Representatives of such companies as Uralkaly, Eurohim, Metafraks participated in the chemical sector of the forum. Yury Kekuh, deployment project manager (Borlas), told about the information system development at JSC Galogen. The reports and subsequent round-table discussions were dedicated mainly to Oracle products (ERP-system) in the chemical industry.

At the moment JSC Metafraks is the only company that has completed the ERP deployment, as Mr. S. P. Vorobiev, company Financial Director, proudly informed. he also briefly described the challenges faced by every company that chose to use ERP for its development. His words about the necessary technical and moral company preparedness for the system deployment were supported by other companies representatives who has already started working with ERP.

In this case the moral aspect is as important as the technical one. traditionally the equipment of the Russian companies is replaced or repaired out of necessity but not as required by the manufacturer. Oracle E-Business Suite requires this tradition to be eliminated. That, as well as a human factor (job redundancy caused by the system deployment) was cited among the problems that cannot be avoided.
